Why the name Nighshift Racing? In 1999 Carl was in Columbus, OH for out patient surgery, things went wrong and he was paralyzed from the neck down and was told that he
would never walk again. Two years went by and a lot of hard home therapy, Carl began to show some signs of improvement. In the last three years he has been walking
(not very good, but walking again!). Carl had raced some back in the 70`s, a friends of our gave them an old S-10 truck and he started racing at National Trails
on Wednesday nights Jeg`s Summer Grudge.
Pamela and Dennis have done all the work on the truck. It took 1 1/2 years to rebuild this 1982 S-10 extend cab
It now has a 350 turbo trans and a 355 engine with 3/4 cam, with Pete Jackson gear drive timing, 202 polish and ported heads,
Edelbrock intake, and 750 Edelbrock carb, and 4.11 posi rear end with a few electronics, line lock and a delay box and trans brake.
It was painted by S&S Spring Shop and lettered and Flamed by Mike Hayes Customs. This truck runs at National Trails and
Pacemakers Dragway and Steel Valley Dragway (The old Freindship Park Raceway).
