Subject: 2005 Toyota Tundra Limited
Posted By: owen weithers
Date: 2/7/2010 10:42:00 AM

Own a Toyota Tundra 2005 with the rear drum brakes.
Am looking for anyone who may have converted the rear brakes to discs
and any input into how this was accomplished.
Or possibly if any known aftermarket kits are available to accomplish this??
Any input welcome...
Owen

Subject: 1993 Silverado

When I got home from work today our 1993 Silverado would not shut off as in the ignition switch would not turn. I turned it to the start position for an instant while it was running then I was able to turn it off. Now when I try to start it the gauge lights come on but the engine does not turn over. I'm guessing ignition switch. Anyone else have any ideas? I sure could use your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Our 1993 Silverado won't start. Acts like it's not getting gas. Could it be fuel pump or maybe I'll get lucky and find the fuel gauge is shot. Any other thoughts?

Subject: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lights won't turn off
Posted By: Amanda Babb

My problem is, my dome lights inside the car will not shut off.
I have tried everything I can think of. The issue I think lies inside the driver side door or the backseat drivers side door.
When I shut my door, the lights will dim, and then shut off for maybe about 2 minues. Then, automatically, they come back on again. Then they stay on for EVER! Never turning off, until I have to undo the cable to my battery.

It's not a bulb. All the bulbs seem to work fine. I am not seeing a bad fuse. I have also tried pushing the button inside the door and it seems to go dim, but never completely off. I have tried taking it to a professional, and he doesn't seem to know what could be causing this issue either.

I want to know. If it IS in fact the computer, what am I going to have to do to get that fixed? Now, if it's a wire, what can I do to make it stop and is there instructions? It seems like it might be the button inside the door, I don't know. I would like to know, if anyone could give me some suggestions? That would be awesome! THank you!

I replaced the fuel pump and fuel relay. Still won't start. It will only start if I use jumper cable on fuel pump relay socket 30 to 87. The fuel pump is heard and then I can start with no prblem. If I take out cable vehicle dies. It will not start with new relay. Any else I'm missing.

Thanks,
Eddie

Subject: My 1993 Jeep Cherokee has trouble running?

My Jeep cranks fine, it will crank everytime. When I place the jeep in drive it will cut off most the time. If it does not cut off it will stumble during acceleration until I get to about 2000 rpms. While on the interstate it down shifts if misses or stumbles for just a second. Then it straightens out, but it is getting progressively worse. I have tried so much it is driving me crazy and finally came on here for help. I have changed or tested plugs, wires, coil, cleaned throttle body, replaced TPS, Replaced map, injectores, fuel pump, fuel filter. I am not getting any codes.

Subject: Strange 4.0 starting problen
Posted By: Paul Franklin
Date: 6/21/2007 1:15:00 PM

I have a 4.0 '93 wrangler. My most recent fuel pump problems have been complicated by a lack of spark. There appeared to be no spark at the leads, but to make sure, I removed #2 spark plug for a better test, and when I turned the engine over the motor started. I turned it off put the plug back in and it started.
Next day once again no spark. No spark from the coil. I planned to take the coil off but thought I would try removing the #2 plug lead from the plug and turning it over. It started. Now, that is my method of starting the jeep, but can anyone tell me why I'm doing this.

Subject: '89 Jeep Cherokee

Date: 6/13/2007 10:09:00 PM

I have an '89 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L and a straight 6. My main question is what is the name for the parts that tighten and loosen the serpentine belt. It's a long, kind of skinny bolt, and another thing that the bolt screws into, which I think is a bushing. I'm having trouble finding this part by my explanation. I think it's the tensioner. But while I'm at it, my origional problem with the jeep was that it was having an over-heating problem. i tried a new thermostat, but that didn't work and I'm unfamiliar with a closed cooling system. So any advice on either would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: 97 Nissan Altima Grinding noise
Posted By: mike head
Date: 5/21/2007 10:25:00 AM

I have a 97 Nissan Altima and I have a problem that I cannot seem to diagnose. When I drive especially at higher speeds, say 65+, I get this really bad knocking noise coming up from the floor board, I can feel it in the gas pedal as well. It gets really loud and hard when I am just accelerating slightly from about 60 to 65-70 mph. If I gas it hard it does nothing. I have new tires, new brakes and rotors, fairly new ( 1 yr old ) struts in the front and rear. I replced the CV joints about 1 1/2 yrs ago and they make no noise while turning. Is it possible the CV are making that racket while going straight? How about the differential inside the automatic tranny? Help???
